IT managers 'must fight' for improved systems
With technology rapidly advancing, chief information officers (CIOs) must make a much better case for investment in that area of business if they are to be successful, according to a recent survey.Research by recruitment consultancy Harvey Nash found that while the recession has heavily contributed to a change in attitudes towards IT in the office, only six per cent of CIOs interviewed said they had made changes to their brief as a result of it, Computing reported.
A transparent strategy for IT is thus needed for companies perhaps wanting to adopt such systems as customer relationship management (CRM) in the future, as this will develop trust on board level.
Such strategies can galvanise the performance of a brand, it was added, with business change worries needing to be overcome by people further up a company for success, particularly with outsourced software.
