Social applications are 'future of business' |

Companies looking to improve their bottom line are increasingly turning to customer relationship management (CRM) as a means of reaching their customers - a very smart strategy, one expert says. Denis Pombriant, a leading writer for SearchCRM.com, explains that cloud computing is getting increasingly popular, with vendors targeting standards found across all businesses to ensure that non-compatibility is not an issue. He notes that many are already aligning themselves to this technology through the adoption of virtualised tools like CRM, thus killing two birds with one stone - improving their technological core as well as their interaction with consumers. This approach is playing to the desires of their target audience too, Mr Pombriant adds. "Vendors want to be where their customers are, and customers are giving an unmistakable signal that they like social applications and they like accessing whatever they want, whenever they want it, on the web," he continues. "Smart vendors have already figured this out; hence the rush to the internet by CRM." Earlier in the week, Gartner emphasised that a delay in the implementation of CRM could result in a company falling behind its competitors - something unwise given the current climate. |
