The outsourcing of technology such as software asset management (SAM) and customer relationship management (CRM) is a "necessity" in the current economic climate, one expert has asserted. Global director of technology services at the IQ Business Group Ewan Macauley told TMCnet that despite the financial pressures of such a purchase, many businesses are willing to put more money up to ensure they get the deal most suited to them. "While the trend had been to choose the low-priced provider, savvy IT executives are now looking beyond the initial job quote to assure that cultural factors are considered in their true return-upon-investment," he explained. Mr Macauley stated that while money is still tight, businesses must look to more technologically-advanced methods of IT governance if they are to meet the evolving demands of the consumer. Outsourcing offers a remarkable number of features, according to Ross Taylor of DirectResponse earlier this week, with the expert in CRM and SAM explaining that it is a great way to cut down on overhead costs given the amount of money which is regularly spent on in-house systems and servers. |
